Maintain Resource Inventory
Materials or Equipment, Volunteers or Cash, they are all considered "resources" in ALERTS. Resources are managed privately or shared with other organizations or jurisdictions, as appropriate. The resource inventory can be searched and sorted, and is updated in real time as items are allocated to various events. This ensure a reliable single source that various individuals or organizations can use in collaborative fashion, and have confidence that the resources are truly available.
ALERTS maintains substantial "metadata", describing the individual resources. This not only helps to ensure that the correct resource is being deployed, but it also supports after-action reporting and cost recovery.
